Day 1

Day 2

Place & Transport: Lhasa
Today's Activities: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Kechu Hotel

- The potala palace: Yomdrok Lake perched upon the marpo ri hill, 130 meters above the lhasa valley, it is the greatest monumental structure in Tibet.
we kindly suggest you take taxi to the top of the palace which costs about 10 and then walk down after your visiting.

- The jokhang temple: the jokhang is the most celebrated temple in Tibet. because the temple is not controlled by a particular sect of Tibetan buddhism it attracts adherents of all the sects as well as followers of bon-po, Tibet's indigenous religion.

- Barkhor street: the barkhor is the oldest street in lhasa as well as the center of old lhasa and remains very traditional. it is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts are assembled.

 

Day 3

Place & Transport: Lhasa to Shigatse
Today's Activities: Our guide and driver will escort you from Lhasa to Shigatse, Yomdrok Lake, The Palgor Chorten
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner

- Yomdrok Lake (2 hours): Dotted with a dozen islands and abundant in natural resources, Lake Yamdrok has the highest power station in the world, and is also the largest habitat for water birds in Tibet, attracting countless swans and gulls every summer.

- The Palgor Chorten (1.5 hours): Pelkhor Choede (Kumbum), also named Palcho Monastery, is very different from other monasteries. Built as a Tibetan monastery, its structural style is very unique, reputed as the lord of Tibetan stupas. In addition, it is famous for the architecture, sculpture, and mural painting art. It lies about 270 kilometers (168 miles) south of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east of Shigatse at the foot of Dzong Hill.

 

Day 4

Place & Transport: Shigatse to Tingri
Today's Activities: Sakya Monastery, Our guide and driver will escort you from Shigatse to Tingri

- Sakya Monastery: Sakya Monastery is the first Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism created by its initiator Khon Konchog Gyalpo in 1073. The monastery has a colossal collection of highly valuable art pieces, including abundance handwriting sutra copied by all the Tibetan calligraphists. Sakya's collection of treasures also contains 3,000 pieces of sutras that have thousands of years history.

 

Day 5

Place & Transport: Tingri
Today's Activities: Old Tingri to Tsojan Village Trekking
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner

- Old Tingri to Tsojan Village Trekking: Today we will trek from old Tingri to Tsojan Village which is a small village with an altitude of 4,500.we will hiking 4-6 hours.Camping in tents.

 

Day 6

Place & Transport: Tingri
Today's Activities: Tsojan Village to Lama La Pass
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner

- Tsojan Village to Lama La Pass: Today we will trek from Tsojan Village to Lama La Pass which is a small village with an altitude of 5,100. we will hiking 4-6 hours.Camping in tents.

 

Day 7

Place & Transport: Tingri
Today's Activities: Lama La Pass to Zemukh
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner

- Lama La Pass to Zemukh: Today we will trek from Lama La Pass to Zumukh which is a small village with an altitude of 4,900.we will hiking 4-6 hours.Camping in tents.

 

Day 8

Place & Transport: Tingri to Rongbuk Mongastery
Today's Activities: Zemukh to Rongbuk Trekking, Our guide and driver will escort you from Tingri to Rongbuk Mongastery, Rongbuk Monastery(with Mt.Everest)
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner

- Zemukh to Rongbuk Trekking: Today we will trek from Zemukh to Rongbuk monastery which is a highest temple in the world with an altitude of 5,200.we will hiking 4-6 hours.Camping in tents.

 

Day 9

Place & Transport: Rongbuk Mongastery to Shigatse
Today's Activities: Our guide and driver will escort you from Rongbuk Mongastery to Shigatse, Rongbuk Monastery to Mt.Everest Camp Base Trekking, Rongbuk Monastery(with Mt.Everest).
Meals: Chinese Lunch, Breakfast, Chinese Dinner

- Rongbuk Monastery(with Mt.Everest) (1.5 hours): Yomdrok LakeRongbuk Monastery is the highest on earth at an altitude is 5,100 meters (16728 feet),. Visitors will get a great view of Mt Everest depending on the weather. Mt. Everest, called Mount Qumulangma in the Tibetan Language, is the highest peak on the Earth and probably the most coveted mountain in adventurous travelers' eyes. A journey to the Mt. Everest Base Camp is a both physical as well as psychological challenge to visitors, but it will definitely reward them with the most unparalleled views – a panorama of Himalayan peaks - and never-forgotten beautiful memories. On May 8, 2008, the Olympic Torch for the 2008 Beijing Olympics was taken to the peak and lit by a group of Chinese mountaineers, making it the first time ever for the Olympic torch to be lit on the "top of the world".

- Rongbuk Monastery to Mt.Everest Camp Base Trekking: Today we will trek from Rongbuk monastery to Mt.Everest Camp Base with an altitude of 5,200.we will hiking 2-3 hours.Camping in tents.

 

Day 10

Place & Transport: Shigatse to Lhasa
Today's Activities: Tashilunpo Monastery, Our guide and driver will escort you from Shigatse to Lhasa
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Tashilunpo Monastery (2 hours): Tashilhunpo Monastery was founded in 1447 by Gyalwa Gendun Drup (1st Dalai Lama) and is a historically and culturally important monastery. Its name means “heap of glory” or “all fortune and happiness gathered here”. Painted in red and white, the buildings in the kloster stand closely together in terraced rows, offering a grand and majestic view. Tashilunpo Kloster represents the Tibetan super architecture art in the Last Tibetan spirit.5 story temple which contains a 26 meters (86ft) sitting statue of the Maitreya Buddha (Jamba Chyenmu) id inside the grounds of the monastery. The statue was cast from 6,700 ounces of gold and over 115,000 kg of copper, making it the biggest copper Buddhist statue in the world.

    About Tibet Travel Permits

    1. How to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit?

  • Tibet Entry Permit is not available by independent travelers at the moment. Travelers have to travel in tour group and ask their travel agent to apply it for you. We will assist you in applying for it after you entering Tibet. Please prepare the following documents before asking your travel agent to apply permit.
    a. a copy of your Passport;
    b. a copy of your China visa (tourist visa);
    c. Full names, gender, Date of Birth, Passport number, nationality, occupation;

Special Notes
a. we do not advice trekking to everest for people who are having heart problems, high blood pressure-renal transplantations-epilepsy and vertigo. kindly consult your doctor.
b. exploration of mt.everest is not suitable from october to april in the following year because of the chill weather; and it is monsoon in july and august, when it is impossible to see the mt.everest in the misty rain. so it’s the best time to enjoy mt.everest in april, may and june.
